Older albums:

Flight of the Arctic Tern was recorded in NYC in 2004. It featured Christian Coleman on drums, Chris Riggenbach on bass and Mike Dopazo on saxophone. We recorded it one day in around five hours. Most of the songs were first or second takes with Shoal Bay and Arctic Tern as exceptions. Chris Rig wrote Amani and Christian wrote Go to Sleep and the rest were compositions I had written pretty recently before the session (except Nimbus, written a couple of years earlier)The four of us had been working on a cruiseship previous to this session and had been playing trio/quartet together almost every night for the previous six months. It was a great vibe and I will always think of it as a privilege and edumacation that I got to play so much music with these gentleman.

Distances was recorded in Gosford, Australia in 2008. It featured my longtime collaborator and friend Christian Coleman on drums, Matt Gruebner on bass, Dale Barlow on saxophones and Peter Toohey on guitar. We recorded over two days and the session also produced the material for Christian’s album Pigments.
Christian wrote the song 5th Street Stoop and the rest were written by myself in the previous year.
